This 12-year-old just can’t wait to smile again — for he no longer  feels the need to cover his wide grin with his hands. Aakash Gandhvi, who is a haemophilic born with a cleft lip and cleft palate, recently underwent a successful operation at the civil hospital on Wednesday. Another operation awaits him for his cleft palate, but he is not afraid.

Flanking Aakash are his father Samrathdan and mother Induben, who said they never gave up hope that their son would have a normal life again.
