The National Dental Centre was incorporated under the Companies Act on 8 August 1995. It commenced operations on 1 March 1997. On 31 March 2000, NDC came under the management of Singapore Health Services or SingHealth. The SingHealth Group is positioned to serve the eastern sector of Singapore through a cluster network of 4 hospitals, 5 specialist centres and 7 polyclinics. The Centre will set the standard for the practice of dentistry in Singapore.
The National Dental Centre offers a unique environment for dental professionals. It is an institution with a full-service specialist dental centre. It has an active teaching programme designed to provide all members of the oral healthcare team with continuing professional education. It is engaged in clinical research.
